Following Jesus pamphlet (Rose-Publishing $3.99) is a great resource for encouraging and instructing others on how to be a disciple of our Lord and Savior Jesus. As noted on the front cover, this pamphlet covers the basic foundations of our faith.

As a believer in Jesus, I sometimes feel lost. I feel disconnected. This pamphlet encouraged me to again and always return to scripture. One of my questions since becoming a believer has been how am I to spread the Gospel? This pamphlet is a great tool.

The one thing I was a little disappointed in was the missing ending of the Lords Prayer (For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.) Also, the reference to the prayer itself is implied but not clearly referred to, Matthew 6:7-13.

It is my personal opinion that the question Do I need to go to Church? is a very good question with a very good answer. God does call us to meet with fellow believers. I am very happy to see the reference to Hebrews 10:24-25 used to explain this.

However, in my experience, sometimes it takes a little shopping around to find the right church family. A Bible believing, Bible teaching church is critical to every believers growth in the Spirit and knowledge of our Lord. There are many churches who teach part but perhaps not all of the Bible, there are churches who do not disciple new believers, or work with more mature believers to continue their growth. Perhaps the question How do I find a church to join? would be a good addition to the pamphlet.

Overall I find this pamphlet very useful. I am excited to see other offerings from Rose-Publishing on this topic. I encourage you to share this with those you are sharing the Gospel with. Its a great tool when sharing the Gospel with others.

Rose Publishing has issued a pamphlet entitled, Following Jesus. This pamphlet is a welcome basket to the New Believer. It covers the fundamentals of Christian Conduct after accepting the Gift of Salvation. The pamphlet contains 11 pages of actual content briefly covering topics regarding Spiritual Gifts/Disciplines, Christian Living, and the Reliability of the Christian Faith.

This pamphlet reminds the New Believe to strive for progress and not perfection because becoming a true disciple is not immediate. Forgiveness, repentance, and the assurance of Salvation with scriptural references are briefly addressed to help reassure New Believers can be forgiven when they sin after repenting from a sincere heart. The four Ps (Praise, Provide, Pardon, and Protect) structure as it relates to The Lords Prayer to aid New Believers to stay connected to God.

Additionally, suggestive scriptural readings are prescribed with a recommended criteria to follow while reading these scriptures to obtain the most out of a biblical study. The importance of fellowship, tithing, and evangelism are emphasized. It also addresses the concerns that most New Believer have regarding the authority/reliability of the Bible, evidence of the Resurrection, and answering the question if Jesus is the only way for salvation.

I believe this pamphlet would work well in New Membership Classes or as a tool to utilize when evangelizing. I believe the pamphlet could explore certain topics deeper for clarity. Overall, I would recommend this to teachers or spiritual leaders who interact with those who seek to learn more about following Jesus.

I was expecting a study guide. The kind that we use in Sunday school... Instead I received a 6 page foldout about very basic information. The brochure it self was nice. It was laminated and for new christians it holds a lot of valuable info. However, this it's not a study guide and should not be located in the study guide area.

In my reading of this, I see no call for repentance; it's just "believe". Yet numerous times in the Scriptures, repentance is central to the Christian faith (ref. Acts 2:38, 3:19, 8:22). In Mark 1:15, Jesus says that we must "repent and believe". There is no salvation without repentance, but this booklet says nothing about genuine faith involving repentance (turning from sin). This is crucial in our day when so many people are being taught, "just believe and keep living how you want". Folks, even the demons "believe" (James 2:19).

Secondly, this pamphlet talks about "asking Jesus into your heart". Now, we've all heard that, and many of us may have been saved after coming down the isle and praying that prayer, but nowhere in the Bible are we told to "ask Jesus into your heart". The sovereign God of the universe does not need your permission to save you. He does as He pleases in the heavens and on the earth (Ps. 135:6). We are called to confess and believe (Rom. 10:9-10), but not "ask Him into our hearts". He does that without us having to "ask".
