Jael KenneyLachute,QCAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5The title says it all.June 18, 2013Jael KenneyLachute,QCAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5What happens when a twenty-something, workaholic-raised stockbroker goes to a Presbyterian singles group to meet girls? The title says it all. This is a great book written in a very masculine tone—from the descriptions to the dialogue (or sometimes the lack there-of). There are no epilogue weddings, no serenading...just a bit of drifting on the ocean, and a great cast of quirky, yet believable, characters. Watch the hero of the story navigate the singles dating scene, meet a shark-loving preacher, a man who can make the gospel "do a pirouette ", and an odd but intriguing poet-missionary. A book that is at once hilarious and real, it begs the question...is this coincidence? or is this God? And, will I ever be the same?
PS I read it aloud to my husband and he loved it...the girls who read it, however, might find it a bit romantically lacking...though certainly worth the read. -

His book "Flabbergasted" was so good I read the entire series. I loved this book and all of the colorful characters in it. I highly recommend this book as well as the series.

DianeAge: 18-245 Stars Out Of 5November 18, 2013DianeAge: 18-24Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I really, really liked this book!
It talks about a guy who decides to go to church, possibly for the wrong reasons, and he's probably not the only one there who does..
But then he learns so much from the people around him.
I have to admit that I've read this book a while ago, so I don't remember all the details, but that is one of the rare books I would actually recommend to a friend who doesn't like to read (aka my brother!) since it's got a great writing style and a great message as well.
Definitely worth the read! (especially if it's free!)
I would probably read it again. -
