This entire series is perhaps the finest commentary available for those who wish truly to preach the Revised Common Lectionary. The four approaches, a "four-fold" interpretation of Holy Scripture -- theological, pastoral, exegetical, and homilectical -- provide a remarkable range of ideas, thoughts, and perspectives. Its "cast of characters" includes erudite scholars, professors and teachers, parish clergy, and lay thinkers, and this provides a wonderful richness. They come from a wide spectrum of Christians denominations. General Editors David L. Bartlett and Barbara Brown Taylor have done a good thing. Westminster John Knox Press is to be commended for the publication of the series.

I can not praise enough for what Barbara Brown Taylor has put together, to see Lectionary passages from four view points, a mine of gold, diamonds, emeralds, and rubies.
