Lis Wiehl with Pete Nelson have written another top-seller! East Salem Trilogy began with Waking Hours #1 and continued with Darkness Rising #2. The story picks up on December 20th; George Gardener and Julian Villanegre are escorting Reese, a young man home from St. Adrian's, to England at Tommy Gunderson's wishes.

The evil that has taken over St. Adrian's Academy is seeping out into the world. Dani and Tommy continue to battle the unseen forces while protecting those they love and care about. As the demon creatures surround Tommy's home, his love for all thing "techy" helps them see what they are really up against. With Reese's help and others, the true satanic conspiracy becomes clear and the battle lines are drawn.

I once again enjoyed being immersed in the world of good versus evil. Thanks to Lis Wiehl for crafting a wonderful story of God's faithfulness to His children!

I received a complimentary copy of Fatal Tide from BookSneeze and Thomas Nelson for my honest review.

Fatal Tide continues the action and wild ride of Dani Harris and Tommy Gunderson began in the first two books, Waking Hours and Darkness Rising. I recommend the other two books be read first so the reader will know what is going on. All the main characters return in this installment with Tommy's bad puns, his aunt Ruth's many guns and librarian smarts and Dani's no nonsense logic.

One of the students, Reese, from St. Aidan's has escaped and come to Tommy's house looking for help. At first, Reese is reluctant to trust those ensconced in Tommy's house and these members feel the same about Reese. Can they learn to trust each other? Reese wants help finding his identical twin brother and doesn't trust officials at his school to tell him the truth. What exactly is the mission of The Selected, a group of boys chosen to live apart from the rest of the school population? Reese finds out his brother has been chosen to be part of this group, but Reese has a very bad feeling about this situation.

Tommy and Dani's romance continues to deepen and Tommy is ready for a permanent commitment. Will things ever settle down so he can get Dani alone to ask her this most important question? The prospects of this happening look grim indeed. Two of their small group are killed, Tommy's house is surrounded while dark by deadly creatures brought from Europe, and they soon learn their time of protection is up on Christmas Eve, which is when the bad guys plan for something big to happen. Quinn is working for the bad guys undercover, so he ferrets out vital information needed to advance the fight of good vs. evil. Cassandra goes undercover as well into the lair of the man in charge of the whole evil operation to see what she can find out.

This plot will hold readers hostage as they won't be able to put the book down until they're done. There is action, romance, friendships made, family reunited, evil encountered, and faith in God lived out in action and faith discovered by some. The characters for me are like old friends revisited in that we can meet and begin an adventure as if we were never parted. There is a fantastic battle toward the end of the book that is just awesome to read! Don't miss this book! I highly recommend all three books in this series. Kudos Lis and Pete!

Finally, the last installment of the East Salem series is here. I was so excited when I know it's coming out and couldn't resist myself to get the book immediately. And similar to the 1st and 2nd installment of the series, Lis Wiehl together with Pete Nelson did not fail to surprise me with more suspense and excitement in this final book of the series. The story continues from the ending of the 2nd installment. So it is recommended that you read the series from book 1 onward to understand the whole story.

In this last book, the characters introduced from the 2nd installment were playing more important role, working hand in hand with Tommy and Dani on fighting the demon. The battle started right from the beginning of the book, making me so nervous and at the same time worry for them. In the whole book of more than 300 pages, many things happened and the time span was only 5 days, detailing the role of each person played and the dangerous of their actions in the whole battle. The authors have shown excellent skills on weaving the emotion, suspense, and twist and turns of the events into the story. I would say there is no single hero in the whole battle, everyone plays an important role in fighting the demon. And of course, God already has his plan for everyone in this whole thing.

I love this series very much. The whole series is full of mystery, suspense, excitement and definitely a page turner. And I love the ending too. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Lis Wiehl with Pete Nelson in their new book, "Fatal Tide" Book Three in the East Salem series published by Thomas Nelson concludes the adventure in the town of East Salem.

From the back cover: In East Salem, the elite St. Adrian's Academy is at the nexus of a satanic apocalypse--and the fatal tide is rising.

When Hieronymus Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights is reunited with the pagans who commissioned it, a dark prophecy begins to unfold in East Salem, beginning with a savage double-murder by hellish creatures straight out of the painting itself. The lone survivor of the attack, a seventeen-year-old Brit, finds sanctuary at Tommy Gunderson's home--and the place is soon surrounded by demons who seem to be biding their time...but for how long?

Tommy's pond has been contaminated with Provivilan--an insidious drug that could transform New York City's children into an army of violence-addicted murderers. But for an occult cabal in the upper echelons of Linz Pharmaceuticals, contaminating the water supply is just part of an ancient conspiracy against all of humankind.

As the clouds gather, Tommy and Dani realize they must infiltrate Linz and St. Adrian's to stop the dissemination of Provivilan. Even then, it could take a tangible eruption of the battle between angels and demons to save humanity from the supernatural evils that have been summoned to East Salem.

Everything comes down to breaking into St. Adrian's Academy. Tommy and Danni must stop the contamination of the water supply with Provivilan and they must stop the demonic encroachment. This is it. Everything has built up to this and Ms. Wiehl and Mr. Nelson pull out all the stops for this story. There is spiritual warfare and standing up to man for what is right. "Fatal Tide" is a thriller, which simply means that everyone is in grave danger from, practically, the beginning. The authors give us a really complex mystery and sections of story that will chill you. "Fatal Tide" is full of twists and turns, with a few red herrings thrown in just to cause confusion. Dani and Tommy are warm and likable and we get engaged in their lives. This is an exciting book, extremely well paced and suspenseful. I am sorry to see this series end however I am looking forward to more from these talented authors.

I would classify "Fatal Tide," the third book of "The East Salem Trilogy," as pre-post-apocalyptic. In other words, the good characters in this book are working to defeat the evil characters in order to prevent a world-changing-and-definitely-not-for-the-better event. To complicate matters, some of the bad characters are demons. Thankfully, some of the good characters are angels. It's a classic good versus evil story with an absolutely brilliant, and God-glorifying, ending.

Like most science fiction works, this one contains a lot of scientific, psychological, and medical technobabble. It's all relevant to the story, though, and explained clearly and often enough that the reader doesn't get too bogged down in it. There's also quite a bit of violence as the forces of good and evil collide. But there's also mystery and intrigue, action, adventure, and a touch of romance–just enough, but not too much. If those sound like the ingredients of a story that you appreciate, you'll want to read "Fatal Tide." Just be sure to read "Waking Hours" and "Darkness Rising" first.

I've enjoyed following main characters Tommy Gunderson and Dani Harris, along with their unusual assortment of friends, throughout this series. The ending caught me by surprise, but I thought it was perfect! I thank Thomas Nelson Publishers for sending a complimentary copy of this book for me to review for you.
