Kasey Van Norman's book, Raw Faith, will allow you a glimpse into the life of a woman who comes up against a critical health crisis that pushes her to examine her faith. On the onset Kasey Van Norman lives an ideal life. She has a family, a ministry, and is in a "good" place, then comes the diagnosis of cancer which leaves her shaken up and forces her to evaluate her true beliefs and challenges her to face the issue of trusting God in an uncertain hour in her life.

Van Norman's book is full of personal insights and precious private moments taken from her own journaling as she battled through cancer. She is blunt and honest, sharing her feelings concerning the physical toll and the mental and spiritual effect of chemotherapy and the road to recovery. Van Norman's writing style is personal, yet, she is also a storyteller, weaving her journey and emotions with Biblical examples of people who went through adversity and saw God move on their behalf. I appreciated that Van Norman does not mince words and leads the reader to examine their own faith in God as well as calling the reader to look at their own heart attitude towards the things of God. This leads to some challenging moments where the author teaches us what examining ourselves looks like. Sin is dangerous and Van Norman is sure to make plain mankind's shortfalls and our need of a Savior.

This book would be great for anyone who is struggling in their faith. Someone who has struggled in their walk with the Lord because of a physical illness would be blessed by this honest look at a woman's journey that led to true surrender to Christ. Raw Faith helps us to see that sometimes we find ourselves in a situation that leads to great transformation. God will indeed use what the enemy of our soul meant for evil, to bring about good. Raw Faith delivers some of the "good" that comes when we trust God in every circumstance.

What if you are a Christian and get cancer. You know what God's Word says about giving thanks in all circumstances but right now you're just not okay. What then?

Raw Faith written by Kasey Van Norman tells you her story and what happened to her.

Kasey gets the call that she has cancer and that really rocks her world (but not in a good way, obviously). She then embarks on a journey of brokenness, pain, and triumphs. She begins looking at her faith and wondering what makes it real. She begins to ask the reader to take this journey of "raw faith" with her and invites the reader to be honest and open to the Lord as they go through the process.

Kasey feels kind of like a good friend who is there to pat you on the back and let you know, "It's okay to not be okay." I really was blessed by what I read on each page.

Her honesty, heart, and writing style make this book a must-read for all women and I would dare to say many men. Pick up a copy if you haven't already. You won't regret it.

In Raw Faith author Kasey Van Norman tells about her battle with cancer and the faith that she needed to get through it. She included journal entries and Bible passages to prove that even when things look dark God is always faithful.

Inspirational story with guidelines on how to make it through a struggle and keep holding onto faith in God. Although the author deals with her battle with cancer it can apply to any struggle you are facing. We have all been at that moment where we can't believe God would let something happen and we have to use our faith to be strong and make it to the other side. Beautifully written and easy to read and follow.

This book has much to be contemplated and absorbed. It was valuable to strengthen my faith and give me direction to study and to find encouragement. I appreciated the candid look at her dire situation, and the lessons in it. I found some answers, some questions, and inspiration here. I am certain this will have an even greater impact on me when I read it again. I may investigate the study guide as well, but I'll certainly re-read the Scriptures she quoted.
