All creation is awe-inspiring, but the work of the human body, created in the very image of God, is especially jaw-dropping! This study of anatomy and physiology showcases the intricacy and design of the human body, from DNA and cell creation to the skeletal, muscular, digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, nervous/endocrine, immune, and intergumentary systems. Integrated with health and nutrition information, as well as plenty of scripture and biblical application, this complete guide to the human body is written in an enjoyable, conversational tone that will keep kids engaged. Experiments, notebooking assignments, narration, and a "personal person project" provide interaction with concepts outside of reading, and help to solidify understanding. 265 pages, hardcover. Index and answers to the narrative questions are included.

Tamara5 Stars Out Of 5Awesome Science!October 7, 2014TamaraQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love this book and it's companion workbook (which I do recommend using, it's laid out like a lap book). I typically do not care for science, and I find that because of this I have a hard time presenting it in an exciting and fun way. At first it seemed that this would be way over my boys heads (grades 4 and 2) but they love it! We take it slow and only go through as much information as they can handle, so lesson one took us five sessions. The information can be a lot but the way it is explained combined with the note booking journal (I wish I would have used the junior journal for my fourth grader too) activities, and pictures help with retention. Now, I even get excited and can say I like Science! Also on a personal note, we have been studying Ancient Greece and Rome so when the book started talking about people from that time it really got their attention.
Trish5 Stars Out Of 5Great god-centered curriculum!October 3, 2014TrishQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I've heard good things about the Apologia series, and this anatomy curriculum did not disappoint. I use it for three kids (ages 11,9, and 7) with the notebooking journals. (The 7-yr-old used the junior notebooking journal.) The lessons are well-written and easy to understand, and the kids enjoy the Try This! activities and the experiments.
In the notebooking journals is included a lesson plan for the whole year, set up for two days per week. This was a great help to me as this is my first year homeschooling my kids. you can pick and choose which activities you want your child to do in the journal, and it's not just black and white and taking notes. There are mini books to cut and paste, crossword puzzles, and many other different activities. I also like the scripture copywork that goes with the lesson.
Everything taught in the book is tied into creation, which I love. Although we only use one textbook (to save money), it would probably be easier with one text per child.
jp5 Stars Out Of 5Well writtenOctober 3, 2014jpAm using this book and the notebook journal with a 5th grader and 1st grader. They both love it, as do I. The journal provides a nice addition to the curriculum and keeps all work in one place. I use this mainly for my 5th grader but the 1st grader soaks up a lot and enjoys learning along with his brother. Would definitely recommend this!

Mom5 Stars Out Of 5ExcellentOctober 2, 2014MomQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Well written, fun, creative and easy to follow. No need for the lesson plans, as it is broken down very clearly in small segments.
Q: How does this cover sexual anatomy? Sexual parts?
No, this book does not cover the reproductive system or parts. It does, however, cover genetic development after conception.
Q: Is this designed to use for an entire school year, or one semester, etc? Thanks!
This is designed as a one year curriculum but, depending on the abilities of the student, it could be completed in less time.
