I examined this book to use with a first-year course I was planning to teach. Unfortunately, it is not very helpful and not very well done. It cannot be compared with the excellent series from Olivia and Hill Press that covers Latin and Spanish among a few other languages. For the Greek student, the best buy for the money is still the little booklet English Grammar for Language Students by Frank X. Braun.

How would one know if the grammatical concepts taught in this book have been grasped? By going over the quizzes given in the book and getting "feedback" through the comparison of one's answers with the correct answers. Incredibly, there is no answer index to determine if the quizzes taken have been taken correctly. In other words, Dr. Lamerson provides no feedback. This book was a waste of my money.

This was one of the required readings for my Biblical Interpretation class and it was not helpful at all. This is a graduate level course, therefore the information contained in the book should be more in depth. There are no answers to the quizzes to ensure you understand the material. At the end of the course I will let the school know how I feel concerning this book in the end of course survey. I would not recommend this book for the true novice in Greek!
