This was the most awesome, insightful, and practical book that I've read in a very long time (and I read a lot). I referred it to my circle of friends and colleagues as a most read. I thank my cousin for recommending it to me during a casual conversation.
A very needed and honest perspective ~~ EXCELLENT!

This book is a blessing! The author/pastor is honest and personally transparent in a very endearing way, making his topic and presentation easy to read and follow.
Getting to know ourselves better, and being able to trust God with ways in which we could use help to grow and become more fully ourselves, and more fully His, is an exciting process,... one that will endure for a lifetime.
This book is dense/packed with information, concepts, many references, suggestions and examples of ways to proceed in "growing a life" that is more emotionally honest and more fully centered on God.
It is beautiful ~~ pointing to time-honored ways of bringing our lives and hearts closer to God, while incorporating the freshness of "being real" about who we are, and how we find ourselves, in the "here and now."
Pastor Scazzero makes himself a very humble "Exhibit A" in exposing many things we are all prone to do and feel. Maturing emotionally and spiritually, and finding God's "joy and peace" therein, is the goal.
This is an excellent book and well written. The author holds in a very good balance the emotional and spiritual dimensions of life and gives some practical applications and tools to understand how to sort out the emotional and grow in the Spiritual. Unlike a lot of Evangelicals like myself, the book goes deep into the spiritual Masters of the past and shows us how these important truths are so relevant to the present.
