After going around the world in 36 weeks with "Galloping the Globe" our child decided she would like to "Canter the Country" to study United States geography/history. To enhance our study of the 50 states we purchased "Eat Your Way Across the USA." "Eat Your Way Across the USA" is a complitation of recipes from all 50 states plus the District of Columbia. For each state there is a native main dish, side dish and dessert along with fun "food facts" from the state. Our family is looking forward to using this cookbook as we did "Eat Your Way Around the World."

I just purchased this book to go along with Trail Guide to US Geography and can't wait to get started. It looks like a delicious way to study geography. There are recipes for popular dishes from each state.

Daughter will be doing a State Study next year and after each state, she will be making dinner from this book. We love the recipes that have been included and are anxious to try new foods.

This book is great, some of the repies are a little interestin... But it is great and a fun way to enforce geography and learn how all people are different and eat different things. :0) Very fun.

I ordered the book as part of a birthday present for my grandson, who is very much interested in U.S. geography. The food facts for each state will probably interest him, but I was disappointed in the selection of recipes from each state. I thought she could have picked healthier recipes, included more fruits and vegetables. The fat content of most recipes is unusually high, something that we should try to avoid with children. Many of the recipes themselves are quite vague, calling for "a can of. . ." or "a package of. . .", without specifying what size can or package.
