I had read Seven Pillars of Health and was looking for a kids version that I could read with my child. This was not it. So a little dissappointed simply because my expectations was something else. Still helpful.

but it focused a lot more attention on breastfeeding vs formula feeding. what types of water to BUY. kinds of supplements to give them.
Also the book talks about eating a low fat plant based diet. It says that bananas, coconut oil, and dried fruit just to name a few that cause inflamation. These authors are very off in selling this to parents as a guide to help their kids eat well.
There are no meal plan ideas or recipes. No examples of how to eat this way other than eat a plant based diet. I will keep the book and reread it hoping I missed something but I doubt I did. I read reviews online of this book after I bought/read it and I saw I'm not the only mom frustrated with the book.
I don't recommend this book because it doesn't seem like anything more than colorfully, well laid out collection online articles rather than a guide to feeding our children.

Obesity is becoming a huge problem in America today and it is really sad - what we do and don't eat is the major cause of that and it seems to be highly family related... parents definitely set the example. I was excited about this book because I was looking forward to going through it with them and hoping that it would really open their eyes to the importance of eating right. The book seems to be written more for parents than for kids though, which is fine, just not what I was expecting. I still plan on using the information in it, just maybe not in the way I was thinking I would.
