HSMalt5 Stars Out Of 5Busy workNovember 8, 2014HSMaltQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My children like paperwork for school. The Easy Grammar series is set up great for having them master a concept. I would like to say that the student workbook is just that, a workbook. The teachers edition has the student workbook pages, lesson ideas, and the answer key. If you want to copy pages or have student just work in teacher book you can and don't need to purchase the student workbook.

Leslie S5 Stars Out Of 5We Loved Easy Grammar, but I'd Change a Few Things NowApril 29, 2020Leslie SQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I used Easy Grammar with all 4 of my children with great success. I like the clear instructions and not-overwhelming amount of work on each page. That being said, if were to do it over again, there are some things I'd definitely do differently. I hope these suggestions will be helpful for other homeschooling parents. First, I would not start this program before fourth grade. I think before that students are too busy learning to read and do basic writing so really aren't ready for more intense grammar work. Second, I would use one book over two years. Students don't need to be doing grammar every single day-I would cover a topic or two and then switch things up with a book like Easy Writing by the same author or some other English related activity. Third, I would not be afraid to skip pages that my child has mastered or do some pages orally on occasion . Fourth, after a couple of years of Easy Grammar, we took a year to do Language Mechanic by The Critical Thinking Company. It was good to have a year of lighter, fun coverage of grammar that taught the logic of why certain grammar rules apply. Easy Grammar is a clear, well-written program, but we as parents need to be careful not to make it dull for our kids by overuse!

AbbiSpokane, WAAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Terrific MethodAugust 6, 2013AbbiSpokane, WAAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We were really struggling with grammar courses...right up until we got this book. Having to spend the front end time learning the forty words was a great way to begin. We made games, used the book, wrote poems, had contests, did "before and afters"...I took longer than normal on this end because of the kids' learning disabilities; I even made "Go Fish" cards and a "Concentration" game. They learned the words and so much of the rest became easy. The method works VERY WELL!

It is easy to teach and understand. She insisted we use it again for the 4th grade. She was so excited when it finally came in the mail. Be sure to get the daily grams. It really does help with retention.

Now that we are going through this book, she is getting it so much easier. Neither one of us is frustrated with grammar any more. Thanks
