We use Story of the World for our homeschooling, but I like to test the kids to see how we're doing with understanding. These tests hit the salient points and have been useful for all the kids grades 5 - 9 so far. (I add an additional multi-paragraph essay question for the older kids.) Easy to read, easy to grade, no need for me to create my own tests. Wish there was a more comprehensive test half-way through, and a thorough test for the entire book.

We used Beautiful Feet last year and switched to SOTW this year. It is great. All of the actives are in the book. No more searching for maps or actives to go along with the time you are wroking on.

Story of the World Volume 3 Early Modern Times Test and Answer Key is a companion to the Story of the World Volume 3 Early Modern Times: From Elizabeth the First to the First Forty-Niners history curriculum. The curriculum is authored by Susan Wise Bauer. She is the co-author of The Well Trained Mind: A Guide to Classical Education at Home.

The resource is divided into forty-two chapters which correspond to those in Story of the World Volume 3 Early Modern Times. Each test is comprised of the following components: Fill in the blank, multiple choice, true and false, matching, and essay. The author has included How to Use These Tests and Answer Key to assist the instructor. This resource is available in the formats of paperback or PDF-download.

Based on our experience with this series and the content of the curriculum I would recommend it for Grades 5-8. Overall we have been pleased with Ms. Bauer's approach to World history. To continue your study of World history, I would recommend Story of the World Volume 4 The Modern Age: From Victoria's Empire to the End of the USSR.

My kids are really enjoying and learning with this series.
