Publisher's Description

We live in a reactionary culture where divisive issues arise, people on either side throw stones, and everyone ends up more entrenched in their opinions than in reaching common ground--or even exhibiting common courtesy! If there ever was a time for Christians to understand and communicate God's truth about controversial and polarizing issues, it is now. Believers must develop convictions based on research, reason, and biblical truth--and be able (and willing) to communicate these convictions with a love and respect that reflects God's own heart.

In Culture Shock, bestselling author, pastor, and radio personality Chip Ingram shows readers how they can bring light rather than heat to the most controversial and divisive issues of our day. Covering topics such as right and wrong, sex, homosexuality, abortion, politics, and the environment, Culture Shock is every engaged believer's must-have guidebook to replacing reactionary hate with revolutionary love.

I consider it a "Must Read". Chip Ingram writes clearly, thoughtfully & Biblically. He is able to take emotionally charged subjects, defuse the rhetoric & hit that balance of the best that God created us for and His infinite Grace. I will read it more than once.

I believe Chip Ingram "hit the nail on the head" with this book. First he explains how we got into the moral mess we're now in and then he talks about those tuff subjects in today's society that almost NO churches will discuss so they leave us with NO guidance at all. It may be the best ten bucks you spend this year!

This book opens our eyes as Christians as to how we are not always Christ centred. The world views us as judgemental and not loving. It really gave me something to think about in my own life. How do I treat people, do I love them unconditional like Christ or am I that judgemental person. It was well written, and thought provoking and I believe has given me a better insight into my personal relationship with Jesus. Made me very aware of every thought that I have regarding people and reminding me that while I was yet a sinner, Christ died for me.

Should "shake up" Christians who are being confronted by these various challenges. Gives us ways to respond to the critics and revisionists.

Should be considered for church "bible study" sessions
