jpmusicgirl5 Stars Out Of 5Suspenseful and uniqueAugust 28, 2014jpmusicgirlThis review was written for Critical Pursuit.I really enjoyed this book. It is about a woman, Brinna who is a police officer working with a police dog to find missing children. She herself had been abducted and then found when she was a child. While her mother and brother have strong faith, Brinna is a non-believer. Due to a shooting, she is paired with Jack, a former homicide detective that has been struggling after the loss of his wife and although he had been strong in his faith, he has turned away from God and does not believe anymore. It was a novel approach to see both main characters as non-believers and to have the secondary characters be the believers in the story. Many times, a story has one strong believer and one non-believer. There are definite issues of faith and belief in God without being preachy with Bible verses quoted constantly. There was tension between Brinna and Jack initially, suspense with the child abductions, and past and present storylines weaving together. While this book does bring closure to it's main story line. There is enough left unresolved with the main character and her faith issue that I look forward to reading the second of the series.

This book is the reason I am a fan of Janice Cantore's work. I loved the action, characters, mystery and suspense.
I think the story line is really good. I love how the author incorporates the lesson of learning the power of forgiveness. Great book!

rlighthousePAAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Good Book!August 20, 2014rlighthousePAAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Critical Pursuit. As a child Officer Brianna Caruso was abducted and miraculously rescued but now does all she can to protect the children around her. She and Hero, her search and rescue dog will do whatever it takes to find a missing child. Following a shooting Brianna is paired with Detective Jack OReilly on patrol duty and they must learn to work together and trust each other even though that is the last thing that Brianna wants. She prefers her furry four legged partner. This was an excellent well written book about the dangers that are around and the officers that will work tirelessly to bring the bad people to justice and save the innocents.

Reader5ILAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Great ReadJuly 31, 2014Reader5ILAge: 35-44Gender: femaleThis was an excellent book that kept me reading well into the night. I love the fact that the author Janice Canotore is an ex-cop because she includes lots of details in the book that only a police offer could add. I enjoyed Officers Brinna Cauruso's character and how is never gave up and grew in her faith from fellow officer Jack O'Reilly. I highly recommend this well written book and look forward to reading more from this author.
