mr bulowAge: 25-34Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Conservative definitions based on usageMay 14, 2013mr bulowAge: 25-34Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Like the Vine's dictionary, these dictionaries develop the definition of words based on how the words are used in the text. This approach requires a clear understanding and interpretation of contexts. I have been impressed with the conservative approach to interpretation - not your typical liberal scholarly approach - similar to the approach in the Vine's dictionary.
The difference between this work and Vine's is their method of cataloguing the words. Vine's lists words alphabetically according to English. CWS list their words by Strong's numbers, and as far as I can tell, they provide a definition for every word used in the Bible. It is like an expanded and enlarged Vine's dictionary.
I highly recommend this work as an invaluable resource for word studies to those who do not know the original languages (like myself). -

Bill5 Stars Out Of 5June 22, 2008BillGreat reference set to get you going in a hurry or in depth study. I used the strongs but I get more out of this set. It is better than the commentaries that are from the authors perspective. Let the Holy Spirit teach what the Bible says.
