    THE CHRISTMAS SHOP

Matilda Honeycutt has arrived in the small town of Parrish Spring to open a very unique shop, but not all the residence are happy to have her there. Unsure exactly what type of store she plans to open, the citizens are soon divided over the issue of a persons personal rights verses what is best for the town.

Suzanna Elton, the new city manager is caught between councilman George Snyder who has made it his personal mission to close Matilda and personal desire to protecting Matilda and her new shop.

Tommy Thompson the editor of the local paper is intrigued by all the drama his town has found itself in the last few day and decides that an objective opinion is just what is needed. But trying to get a interview with Matlida proves to be a bigger challenge than he antispated.

Once again Melody Carlson bring us beautifully written story that, full of God's grace and forgiveness. The characters well done full of flaws and strengths. I enjoyed the mystery of who Matilda was and what kind of shop she is opening, as I loved watching Suzanna and Tommy friendship and budding romance develop. Her underlining theme of not judging people by the way that they look was a gentle reminder for everyday life.

A marvelous book not only for Christmas, but for any time of the year.

This book creates a drama and finishes with a feel-good, happy ending. The mystery of the shop is slowly revealed along with each character's pain that developed their personalities.

Not at all what I expected and that was really the point of the book. An interesting story, but I expected more romance to be involved since this book is by Melody Carlson.
