I really liked this film. Another reviewer cited God's name being used in vain. I am usually pretty sensitive to that, but watched it in Dec. (two months ago). Will have to look again. They did not use the Name of Christ Jesus in vain or I would have ejected it. I believe they are referring to characters who are clearly not believers saying, "God". I don't condone any misuse of His Name, but, I believe, in the context of the story, they are all moving closer to gaining (or regaining) their faith and relationships back after some very real (portrayed) life struggles. I thought it was a heartwarming story, with a good ending. Shows the struggle that some parents have with special needs kids (but does'nt show 'the half of it', keeps it at a 'raising awareness' level, not 'in your face' documentary). Excellent title song. Good production, acting. Liked it, but will check the mentioned concerns. : )
The story line and acting were good, but it moved pretty slow and they used God's name in vain multiple times. I felt like God was kind of tacked on to the story. Sorry, I wish I could give it two thumbs up.. but it wasn't something I would take time to watch again.
I not only enjoyed this movie but I appreciated it. We see
how easy it is to grow apart from those we really care about but we also see how people, even strangers will join forces and pull together to help when someone is in real danger. When a child with autism became lost in a snow storm everyone pulled together showing genuine love. It certainly caused me to re-examine what matters and what should be filed under petty grievances, forgiven and forgotten. I am thankful for this movie and I heartily recommend it.
