Returning to the setting of the Seasons of Sugarcreek books and being able to catch up with all the characters we have come to love and adore, is where Christmas in Sugarcreek by Shelly Shepard Gray begins. When she finished writing Autumn's Promise, Shelly felt the need to tell Judith Graber's story since she felt it was a character she neglected. Judith needed a man who would love her enough to make her smile and that is what she finds in Ben Knox.

Ben Knox has the reputation of being the bad Amish boy, one who spent his rumspringa finding and capturing the hearts of girls and leaving them behind battered and broken. Even though Judith has always liked him, she isn't about to let her feelings get in the way of common sense. Yet that is all Judith's life has been about, being the girl who is reliable, dependable, one with a great head on her shoulders and very smart. She's the one her parents rely on to help with the household chores, the children and running the family store. Just for once, Judith dreams of doing something just for herself or finding just the right person who will take care of her.

Just when Judith doesn't think things can get any worse, they do. When her brother Caleb is called away from helping Judith with the store to care for her wife who is pregnant with twins, she feels overwhelmed. Her father offers to hire someone to help her out and Ben Knox is just the right person for the job. Will Judith be able to keep her heart and feelings locked deep inside or will Ben be the key to unlock the love she has kept inside? Could this Christmas season bring love and a new life for the unlikeliest pair in Sugarcreek?

I received Christmas in Sugarcreek compliments of Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for my honest review and after falling in love with the characters from Sugarcreek in Shelly's series, I couldn't wait to share Christmas with the Graber family once again. A wonderful story of finding a bit of light and hope inside each of us, if we are but brave enough to seek it. Another award winning book that rates a perfect 5 out of 5 stars!

This was such an enjoyable read!. I found it hard to put the book down. The citizens of Sugarcreek have become very dear to me in this series. I loved the fact this one had two romances. I also loved the Spiritual thread that ran through this book. Shelley did another great job with this book.

I enjoy ready stories about the Amish. We travel to Ohio and Pennsylvania each year and always visit the farmlands and stores. If you have never had this experience in Holmes County, Ohio or Lancaster, Pennsylvania, you should visit both places. Most of the Amish stories are based on these two places so if you enjoy reading the stories, then you would certainly enjoy visiting these two places!

A perfect holiday Novel that will leave you warm and wanting more, I thoroughly enjoyed it so much, it was read within a week!! ;)

It begins with the lovely Judith Graber, she's unselfish to the core, obedient, responsible, and wouldn't hesitate to put her families needs above her own. Then bad boy Ben Knox steps back into her life and turns it upside down- BRING ON THE FIREWORKS ;) Playful antics ensure as we learn about Judith and Ben's history, and Ben's troubled past returns to haunt this new happiness and feelings he's fought for so long to hide.

You will fall in love with the entire Graber family! I enjoyed the fact that the Author weaved three different romantic tales into one! You surely will shed some tears between the sweet relationship between Judith's brother, Caleb and Rebecca, Lilly and Robert as they learn to love, forgive, redeem, and find themselves through Christ!

This is my first time reading an Amish story and my first from Author, Shelley Shephard Gray, and what a pure delight it was! I'm now officially hooked, I hope she will continue on with the Graber's in a sequal or some kind!! ;) I know every girl secretly wishes she has a Ben Knock of her own hehe ;) The only thing I wish was included in the book, (and it's very small) is that there was a glossary of the Amish terms to translate. I'd be so engrossed in a chapter and then come across a word and be stumped sometimes LOL...but I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND this novel to anyone, no hesitation ;)
