StevePendleton, SCAge: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Outstanding!November 9, 2013StevePendleton, SCAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels.I purchased this book on the recommendation of a friend. Initially I was somewhat skeptical as to whether I would get much from it, since I had previously read Lee Strobel's similar book "The Case for Christ" and even taught it to two different groups at my church. I was wrong. "Cold-Case Christianity" covers much of the same material, but Wallace presents it in a fascinating way. His experiences as a homicide detective, and especially his understanding of eyewitness testimony, really deepened my understanding of the seeming contradictions between the gospel accounts. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in studying the case for the validity of the New Testament scriptures.

I have been reading books on apologetics from all different authors over the course of the last 8 years. I thought I had exhausted the topic and I would wait impatiently for a new title from someone whom I had already discovered, hoping it would be something new to the realm of apologetics. Thanks to the movie Gods Not Dead 2 not only have I found a new line of determining the evidence, I have discovered a new author. I cant wait to get Mr. Wallace's other works, the one finished and those in process.

Tony5 Stars Out Of 5Cold-Case ChristianityDecember 1, 2017TonyQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0An excellent resource that compiles all of the evidence for the accuracy and truth of the Gospels in one location. Mr. Warner is very good at weaving the analysis of the facts into a compelling book. I appreciated the foundation for his reasoning and logic early in the book. It provides a road map for how he analyzed the information for himself. The evidence as portrayed by Mr. Wallace is compelling and led him to reject his Atheism and turn to Christ. I did not come to the book as an Atheist, but as a believer who wanted a better grasp of the evidence and documentation for the Gospels in order to better refute the case that many make against the Gospels. I think all believers need to engage with the evidence for the truth of the Gospels and push back against an Atheist narrative that quite often goes unchallenged in our culture. When you do engage people on the evidence it is funny at times how shocked Christians are when they realize how much evidence is out there. That is a mark against us as believers, we need to educate ourselves and be prepared for any opportunity to sow some seeds of doubt in the non-believer's mind, a seed that may one day lead them to Christianity.

Debbie from ChristFocusHarrison, ARAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Using the methods of a detective to examine the gospelsAugust 21, 2016Debbie from ChristFocusHarrison, ARAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels."Cold-Case Christianity" looks at the claims of the gospels from the point of view of a cold case detective. The author looked at many "lines of evidence" as he examined the gospels, and I felt he did an excellent job of explaining how he came to his conclusions. He even covered some angles that I haven't read before and which I found very interesting.
He began by using examples of various cases he's worked on to show how a detective examines evidence. He then applied these methods to the evidence surrounding the claims of the gospels. Then he looked at some of the evidence in greater detail. He looked at when the gospels were written, if they are eyewitness accounts, if they are accurate, how well these accounts have been preserved over time, what the motive was behind writing the gospels, and how much evidence is "enough."
I wouldn't hesitate to give this book to anyone who is uncertain about the gospels or who likes to debate these issues. This book will especially appeal to those who are interested in detective work. -
IreneUnited States5 Stars Out Of 5Great Study of the GospelsJanuary 11, 2014IreneUnited StatesQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels.I know this book has gotten very good reviews. I was not so sure when I first started reading it if I would like it or not as the subject seemed to be a heavy one. There were parts where I really had to concentrate on what was being said which made it hard to enjoy reading. Even though I was bored at times, that was just a personal issue! The book itself has wonderful information and is well written. I gave this book 5/5 stars. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in studying the Gospels. If , however, you do not like deep books that will make you think, then you should skip the book!
I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.
