Tell us a little about yourself.  I've been married to Cyndi, my best friend in the entire world, for the past 15 years. We have four children that I adore. I love spending time with family, travel, baseball -- especially the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I love the Quick Questions series of books published by Youth Specialties. My family and I were driving from Minneapolis to Chicago and I began to ask my own children questions that eventually turned into this book. We've used these questions with the students in our ministry and they love it.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I'm hoping that Choose Your Top 3 will help youth workers, parents, teachers, and students gain a better understanding of each other. Choose Your Top 3 is a discussion starter book that reveals more about a person than the average discussion starter book. Why? Because, the questions are asked in such a way that they require the person to give three answers. I love the unique insights that this book offers into the teenagers in our lives.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I love the writings of Mark Buchannan, Louie Giglio, Leith Anderson, Chuck Colson, Philip Yancey, Donald Miller, Elmer Towns, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Rob Bell, Doug Fields, and Rick Warren. I love the music of Chris Rice, Keith Green, Rich Mullins, David Crowder, Tim McGraw, Sara Groves, and Casting Crowns.
