Child of Mine is really a good read. It is about Jack, a single man who is raising his deceased brothers adopted daughter, Natalie. Natalies nanny is Laura, a shunned Amish woman. Kelly is a widow searching for her kidnapped daughter, Emily. Kelly will do anything to find Emily. What will happen when these four peoples worlds collide?

I have to say I really liked Child of Mine. I just loved Laura and Natalie. They have such a precious bond. They were so sweet and cute together. I liked how David and Beverly Lewis added some suspense to the story. I did not want to stop turning the pages.

Within these pages were great lessons to learn. Not everything are what they seem. Always get the full story before assuming. And the Power of Forgiveness.

I have always loved Beverly Lewis's writing and this book is no exception. I highly recommend it.

    5 stars.

This is a story of forgiveness and putting others first. I dont normally get emotional when reading most books. But Child of Mine really tugged at my heart strings. I had a hard time putting the book down until I knew how it was going to end. Whenever I thought I could predict the ending, the authors put in a twist that had me reeling. I very quickly gave up trying to figure out what to anticipate next.

Meet Jack, a man raising his nephew Nattie after the death of her adopted parents. He did not have an easy childhood and now is determined to do what is best for Nattie including finding a mother for her. Then there is Kelly whose child was kidnapped and sold by the childs father eight years ago. Kelly is determined to find her little girl no matter the cost. We also meet Laura the nanny with secrets of her own. And finally, involved in the story is an aunt who says what she thinks and is very opinioned on how Jack should live his life.

Child of Mine is unlike any other Beverly Lewis book I have ever read. This is my first book with coauthor David Lewis. But if this book is any indication of his other books, I am a loyal fan. The characters in Child of Mine are faced with making some tough choices including deciding whether to forgive those people in their past who had hurt them. They experience joy, sorrow, betrayal, lies, painful truths, and living in a world where hurts are inevitable and life does not always work out as expected. I have always enjoyed Beverly Lewis books. But this book coauthored with David Lewis raised the bar even higher and I hope we will see more coauthored books

Jack Livingston is raising his 8 year old adopted niece with the help of an amish nanny Laura Mast.

Eight years ago Kelly Maines little girl was kidnapped. With the help of a private investigator there is a new lead, could it be Nattie, Jack's adopted daughter?

Or could the little girl belong to her amish caregiver?

The book keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who is her mother.

I recommend this book highly! Another winner by Beverly Lewis.

Beverly Lewis is my favorite Amish fiction author. Child of Mine was written with her husband, David Lewis. In a way, it is a bit different than most of Lewis' novels. However, it has quickly become one of my favorites! I loved this book! There is drama, romance, and intrigue. It will keep you turning the pages!

In Child of Mine, Kelly Maines is one of the lead characters. She is searching for her daughter who was kidnapped eight years ago. Following many leads, and finding many dead ends, she finally receives word from her private investigator that there is an eight-year-old girl living in Ohio who matches the profile of her missing daughter.

Jack Livingston is a flight instructor living in Ohio. He is raising his brother's daughter because his brother and sister-in-law were killed in an accident and wished for Jack to become her guardian in the event of their deaths. Jack adores his niece, Natalie. She has become his world. Natalie's parents could not have children of their own and were thrilled to adopt her as an infant. Sadly, they would not survive to see Natalie grow up.

Laura Mast is the Amish nanny who is helping Jack to care for Natalie. Laura was hired by Jack's brother and his wife after they adopted Natalie. She is devoted to the child, so remains with her when she moves to Jack's home. Natalie would like nothing more than to have her Uncle Jack marry Laura. The three have been living a content life together for years. Because Laura is Amish, Jack believes it would be impossible to have a romantic relationship with her. Laura is originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, but has been shunned by her family there, so she moved to Ohio to live with her cousin who is a member of the "Beachy Amish" order. Jack wonders about Laura's shunning, but all that Laura will say about her past is that the door is forever closed to her regarding reconciling with her family in Lancaster. She can never go back.

Kelly Maines enters Jack's life when she asks for an introductory flight at his flight school. Jack has no idea that Kelly is really in Ohio to find out if Natalie might be her daughter. Jack and Kelly become close, developing a romantic relationship. It all falls apart when Jack discovers that Kelly has been deceiving him. He realizes she has only been using him to get to Natalie...or has she?

There are so many twists in the plot that I had no idea what was coming next. It was a book I could not put down, so I literally read this novel in one sitting. I was very surprised by the conclusion! Most times when I read a book, I have a general idea about what will happen by the end of the story. Child of Mine was a shocker! It is absolutely a MUST READ!!!
