Having a hard time finding books that are highly educational, fun and teach about God? Let me tell you about a great book I have found for children called Charlie and Trike in the Grand Canyon Adventure. Here's a little bit about it...One adventurous monkey--Charlie.One wise dinosaur--Trike.Together they go on a wild adventure through the Grand Canyon. They learn how the Grand Canyon came to be---through Noah's Flood and they find example after example of overwhelming evidence all around him to prove it and along the track find themselves battling dangers such as wild snakes and dangerous waters. Charlie does his best to understand it all as Trike explains it all and the importance of trusting the Bible. He comes to a conclusion that will change his life forever. This large, quality hardcover book for ages 4-8 that is written by Ken Ham (with Karen Hansel) of Answers In Genesis, takes a wonderful indepth look at the glories of God's Grand Canyon and is truly a wonderful addition to your child's library. Not just for the educational or God factor---but also because there is also a wonderful surprise in it. On the outside this looks like a regular book but on the inside there you find a wonderful array of notables: * informative mini books with crisp glossy images * fun fold up flap page * easy open flaps map * beautiful illustrations * cute eye-catching sketches * a fold out poster of Charlie and Trike to hang on your child's wall * envelope enclosed style messageThis book reminds me of the fun lapbooks we love to create in our homeschool---only now we have it in long-lasting book form as the pages are highly durable and made to stand up to small children. What a treat!Books that are wholesome, educational, fun and teach about the Bible are hard to come by--I highly recommend this new book to parents everywhere!

Being a student of Geology, I was thrilled to read Charlie and Trike in the Grand Canyon Adventure. Utilizing my favorite (and most effective) mode to study geology, plants, animals and the World Wide Flood, this book uses a real-life model, The Grand Canyon!

This is the first book in the Green Notebook Series where Ken Ham brings science and the Bible together for elementary minds to grasp and understand.

Staring in this adventure is Charlie, a curious monkey and Trike, a wise dinosaur who take a camping trip in The Grand Canyon. Page after page is filled with colorful illustrations, real-life examples and pictures from The Grand Canyon and a thorough explanation of the World Wide Flood according to the Bible and as evident in the surrounding rock layers.

My kids (ages 7-12) enjoyed this interactive story and especially the real pictures of rock layers, fossils and drawings to explain biblical events. The book is full of fun, facts and biblical information.

The theme of trusting God's Word rings clearly from beginning to end. However, it was a bit light on the message of salvation. I fully trust that as the series continues, more of these pieces will be brought together in guiding the reader towards Jesus.

The curriculum for the Preschool Level of God Made The World and Me is a fantastic resource for a mom who is just starting out homeschooling. I enjoy all of the suggestions for the Learning Centers and how they can be involved or simple. The music suggestions are cute and creative.

I look forward to using this curriculum to help my son learn more about the world around him. This offers a great scope and sequence as well as supplemental learning activities that I can use to supplement my own ideas and lessons. I only wish that The Creation Story for Children was included in my review package as I was not able to look at the stories that were suggested for Circle Time.

The second book that was included in my review package was Charlie and Trike in the Grand Canyon Adventure. This is such a cute book! Author Ken Ham did an excellent job in explaining the World Wide Flood using interesting characters and a great story line. I believe it will go well when we look to find out more of the story of Noah and the Great Flood. The pullouts and the maps that are offered for kiddos to look at are intriguing to little kiddos.

Above all, both of these resources will be an excellent addition to my curriculum and my family.

Charlie and Trike in the Grand Canyon Adventure was both educational and entertaining. Charlie (a monkey) and Trike (a dinosaur) have a great adventure at the Grand Canyon. They learn about fossils, Noah and the Flood, the canyon, and most importantly the truth of God's Word.

Kids will love to read this book because there are so many fun "extras." Each page has a cute little feature - a small book glued to it, a flap that reveals another page, a fold out, a map, etc. I appreciated how the author wove together the story about Noah and facts about the Grand Canyon. Both educational and biblical! At times the actual story bounced around a little. I would have liked a little more continuity. Overall, though, this was a great read and one that will stay in my "keep" pile.

I received a free copy of this book from New Leaf Publishers in exchange for my fair and honest review.

As a former Parochial elementary school teacher and a current stay-at-home mom, I feel that this book would be an excellent addition to any classroom or home library. Just by thumbing through the pages, children will be intrigued by the fun and colorful illustrations as well as the pull out pages and interesting facts displayed on flippable flaps! This text would be a great resource in not only discussing different aspects of The Grand Canyon, but also when discussing the effects of Noah and the flood. Biblical and Scientific facts are displayed throughout the text by a curious and doubtful monkey and his friend, a confident and trusting dinosaur! Children may need guidance when reading this text only because there are 2 different story lines taking place in the story and it can get confusing & distracting with the pull out pages and flippable flaps, however with guidance children will enjoy this book greatly!
