Carol Mccray5 Stars Out Of 5July 23, 2008Carol MccrayA wonderful biography that brings Amy Carmichael to life, so you can vividly see how her determination to follow the Lord's leading in her life dictated the path of her ministry in India.

Sarah Tomich5 Stars Out Of 5February 5, 2008Sarah TomichThis was an inspiring story of the passionate life and ministry of Amy Carmichael. Amy had no tolerance for "nominal" Christianity, and her zeal for the Lord and His work really shines through in this book. Elliot does a great job, though, of portraying her as a well-rounded character, not hiding her quirks and peculiarities. Amy was often maligned in her own time for refusing to settle for the norm. She sought the higher ways of the Lord, and many times suffered much criticism for doing what she felt God was calling her to. You will certainly be challenged to grow in faith and in your Christian walk through this excellent biography.

Glenna Francis5 Stars Out Of 5May 8, 2008Glenna FrancisIt would be impossible, I expect, to ever write fiction that could top the real life adventures, challenges, and victories of Amy Carmichael's life. Elisabeth Elliot has caught the tenor and excitement, the laughter and tears, the grandeur and quiet charm in retelling the truth of Amma's passion for souls, the truth of the Gospel, and her dauntless courage in the face of incredible obstacles. What a challenge to my own life!
