This book helped my 11-year-old daughter grow deeper in her faith. It was very relateable to where she was at, and brought up some great topics for us to discuss together. I loved the casual, friendly tone and the truths shared--ones about personal value, connecting with God, relating in healthy ways to us as parents--which are so key at this stage of life. Such an important book!

I gave this as a gift to my 11 year old daughter who really enjoys Adventures in Odyssey. I thought it was a devotional but I would say it's more like a conversation guide. We read it together each night (we're about half way through the book now) and it leads us into important discussions about what God thinks of us, how we get to know God better, health/hygiene/nutrition/exercise, and recognizing our talents.

At the end of each chapter, there is a section that has questions/activities that helps the reader really think through the topic. I've talked to my daughter about many of these topics before reading the book but it hasn't really sunk in. For some reason, having Connie and her AIO friends "talk" about these different topics has helped us as mom/daughter to have more meaningful conversations. Afterwards, I have my daughter write a prayer to God at the end of the chapter/q&a incorporating what she has learned from the text, then we pray together before saying goodnight. It has made for a very special time in our relationship and an investment in her journey with Christ.

I would definitely recommend this book but take the time to walk through it with your daughter, unless she's totally opposed to that. And if she is an Adventures in Odyssey fan, this is a must have.
