This journal works very well when used as a companion to the book. Not only does it solidify what the student has learned, it encourages thoughtful reflection on applying Bible truths to everyday life. My 9 year old does all of his own writing in his journal but it could be used equally well with a thoughtful younger child who dictates his answers to an adult.

This is a fantastic curriculum. My daughter is very artistic and this journal allows her to be creative. We are enjoying it immensely. The whole program, book & journal, is fantastic for solidifying your faith and being a critical thinker. I highly recommend it!

I am loving this book and the journal - it is such a great way for my kids to "know God". We are using it for our Bible in schooling (6th & 7th grade) our kids - they look forward to it and it has sparked some wonderful conversation. I would highly recommend this book and we are looking forward to the next one too!

I've not actually used this with our daughter yet, but here's my impression. We have used the other Apologia notebooking journals. This one is in the same spirit as those, just varying in the content. This journal has a wider variety of activities and the pages have color print and photos. It's more eye-appealing than the science notebooking journals.

The most important factor is the content--the Biblical worldview on which we as believers must stand--no exceptions! This printed notebooking journal compliments the book and provides an additional experience for the students to process the key points/truths presented in the book. The preprinted journal makes it easier for the parent/teacher: the printing is done and the assignments are all organized and collected in to one spot. Likewise, the student has all (or at least the most) of the assignments/activities in one spot. The journal will serve as a keep-sake and a reference for the future.

This book ties all the reading together. Instructions are clear and it includes a schedule of how the two fit together.
