This book has been very helpful in helping me deal with the issues that I have been having with me teenage son. One of the most helpful aspects is that of dealing with him in love instead of frustration which can be very difficult when you are getting disobeyed and disrespected. But when I put this into action I immediately saw a difference in our interactions. Also, helping my son gain a vision of his "good" future has been very beneficial for my son. This vision I know is going to help my son in choosing things that are more future related than now related. I would definitely recommend this book to any teenage parent.

This is such a great book. It gives very practical and effective parenting guidelines. It is giving my husband and I the tools needed to raise 3 boys. I cannot say enough good things about it. We are so blessed to have such good, bible based instruction at our figertips. Thank you Dr. Townsend.

This is a great tool to refer to as needed. I first borrowed it from the library, then decided I needed a copy for myself. It offers suggestions that you may not think of when you are in the middle of a situation with your child.

I am really enjoying this book and alot of it has applied to my family situation. (not the heavy stuff like cutting etc... that is a very small part of the book) Just things like me backing off and not nagging etc. My son is a very good kid and I figured out I need to back off and give some space for him to make choices. I am already finding things are shifting and its a alot calmer enviroment. It has put alot of things in perspective and has been very helpful. I think it breaks things down really well and gives good suggestions etc. It has been a fast read and I am very glad I purchased it.
