LostinLitNashville, NCAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5May 18, 2012LostinLitNashville, NCAge: 35-44Gender: femaleValue: 5This review was written for Born Again, Hardcover. This has to be in my top five favorite books of all time. I read it a year ago and it still resonates with me. I picked it up because I had issued a small challenge to myself to read more non-fiction and I was interested in learning some history on Watergate since I was never really taught about it in school. (At least I have no memory of it). I knew the book would tell me the story of Chuck Colson's time in the White House and his time spent in prison because of "the Watergate Scandal". I enjoyed getting the details on Watergate from his perspective but I did not expect to be so moved by the beautiful description of how this man was radically and completely converted . I see now that there really could be no other title suitable for this book. And just reading of how God was moving and working in our Nation's Capital at that time in history was surprising. I shouldn't be surprised by that, but I was, and encouraged as well.
This book, to me, is one that I believe all Christian's should read. It shocks me and saddens me that even today there are those that are suspicious of Mr. Colson's sincerety and integrity. One reading of this book should make the truth of his words and actions obvious. Not because Chuck Colson said them, or wrote them, but because the evidence of the Fruit of the Spirit has absolutely thrived in this man. If I had to describe Mr. Colson in just one word, it would be GENUINE.
So put it on your reading list, move it towards the top. You won't be disappointed. -

I am very glad I did. What an amazing journey from being on the wrong side of Watergate to being fully surrendered to God and founding Prison Fellowship ministries, along with his wife, which is now worldwide. I believe Colson's trailblazing efforts have made it possible for many of God's servants to reach many inmates for Christ. I loaned this book to a friend on Sunday. By Wednesday he had finished it and asked permission to pass it on to his granddaughter. It is truly a work that every Christian should read, especially if you lived through the Watergate years, as I did.

Jo Ann Alexander5 Stars Out Of 5A must readMarch 23, 2015Jo Ann AlexanderQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Born Again, Hardcover. My husband read this book and he is not one to recommend many books, but he has told everyone he sees that they should read this book. He ordered one and sent it to his nephew who said "There were times that I could not put the book down." I am reading the book now and not only do I find the Watergate history interesting I have enjoyed hearing of Colson's journey to becoming a Christian. A must read for Christians and non-Christians alike.

Adrienne Garcia5 Stars Out Of 5God's work in adversityOctober 10, 2010Adrienne GarciaThis review was written for Born Again, Hardcover.Wonderful book on the pure mariculous work of God. A man who was totally blind that was given sight as he gives up himself for the Lord to take over. And what a work God does! Encouragement especially to those who have loved ones who you may think will never change.
