Lady of the CastlePAAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great Anatomy Dvd'sApril 16, 2013Lady of the CastlePAAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We used these dvd's for 2 children, 1 in 12th grade and the other in 9th. The kids thought these were excellent. My son (9th) said they were great because he could see that Dr. Menton loves what he does therefore it helped him love to learn about Anatomy. For a whole year science (1) credit, I put together a lesson plan using these dvd's (and study guide), Body by Design Book, DK Human Body Book, and the Princeton Review Anatomy Coloring Workbook 3rd edition. I will be saving these Anatomy dvd's for my younger children for when they go into high school. My son wants to know if Dr. Menton can do another more advanced Anatomy class. :)

momx7North DakotaAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great textbook alternativeMarch 22, 2012momx7North DakotaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I purchased these for my 4th child, an 8th grader, who has a different learning style than my 3 children who preceded him in school. I used Apologia Science with the older 3, and had great results. Textbook learning is difficult for this son, and though he is in a regular textbook for English and Math, I wanted something different in science for him. I purchased these DVD's hoping they would be an alternative to textbook learning, and that my son would glean some good scientific information.
After watching each lesson, I have been very impressed at the amount of facts he is able to tell me about the lesson. We haven't done the study guide, but I am confident he is comprehending the material.
I would reccomend these dvd's. -

Homeschool Mom4 Stars Out Of 5Will use againMay 20, 2019Homeschool MomQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 3I purchased these videos to use with my high school students. One of whom is dyslexic. For each lesson, we watched them once just paying attention. The second time they stopped and started the video to answer the questions in the study guide. To complete their one credit course, I made my own test and used an A&P coloring book. Great course for those with reading challenges.

Momof11Pasco, WAAge: 35-44Gender: female2 Stars Out Of 5HorribleMarch 12, 2014Momof11Pasco, WAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 1I am really shocked by all the great reviews this set got. I was so excited when I bought these dvds. We are studying the human body right now, and I thought this would be a great supplement, especially for my older children, and a great addition to our library. My children loved the Moody science series, and regularly watch documentaries and sermons/lectures, so they don't need all the "flash" and entertainment to learn. However, these were the most boring dvds I have ever bought. Even I had a hard time sitting through them. I appreciate what is trying to be taught, but there is no enthusiasm in either the teacher, or the children being spoken to, and you are literally just watching a teacher talk to children about the subject. My kids can read a book and get that knowledge. When I buy dvds I expect to get something a little more visual and a little more interesting information about the subject I'm wanting to learn about. The quality of the film was fine so I gave that an average rating, and the value would be good if the dvds were worth watching. But overall, I would not recommend these. Only two of ours have been opened and after watching those two, we didn't even bother opening the others. If you can preview these before purchasing, I would highly recommend, as they might not be what you expect.
