The only thing I would change is that it would be great if the program included the outline maps.

This product exceeded my expectations! I usually like doing step by step curriculums, so was not sure how this one was going to work, but I am thoroughly impressed. It is both organized, yet open and creative. Projects can be simple or complex. Just from this curriculum the kids are getting a good amount of history, geography, cultural studies, economics, world religions and unexpectedly-literature. Thank you for creating such a wonderful set!

As a former elementary school teacher and now homeschool mom, this Apologia Geography set is disappointing. I'm writing a review concerning the student workbook here under the teacher manual so you can consider your choices carefully. Our family loves Apologia. We use Apologia for elementary math and love it. The open ended way of their math workbook is easy to manuever because math is grade, development, objectives based subject. There are a ton of FREE websites that offer worksheets or extra practice in the lessons of multiplication, dividion, etc., so it's not a problem. However, in the subject of Geography, one can find hundreds of maps, some blank, some not, too small, too big, etc. The subject is too broad not to have more direction and worksheets in the student workbook. There needs to be a happy medium here with multiaged homeschoolers, meaning surely the author could find and add blank maps that can be written on that would work for 3rd-7th grades. Students are given questions and guidelines but no spaces to write. The workbook is bad, especially for the suggested grade levels, upper elementary to middle school. The curriculum is too open ended, requiring too much of our time looking for our own consummable maps and information, which is a BIG deal. It took me a lot of time to find a blank map of Africa (the very first lesson) that worked for all the terms students needed to label and know. I teach 5 other subjects and just can't spend hours searching for things. AND, I dont want my child searching for hours either. I believe this set could be great but right now, its terrible. I love history and social studies but using this curriculum makes me dread the class.
