I was looking for a program to use with a 3rd and 6th grader that incorporated literature, bible, and history into one. This exceeded my expectations. I would say so far for the cost and what you get this was a great investment. It has taken on a life of its own with reading of the story and adding in the additional resources. One is an avid reader the other is an audio learner. They both are really enjoying this program.

We purchased this curriculum to use as a Bible Curriculum for our children this year (1st,2nd, and 4th grade) It is WONDERFUL! The listening CD is very enjoyable to listen to. The whole family enjoys listening to the reading on CD. It has excellent information on resources that aid in teaching this as a whole curriculum! Including Historical facts, Science facts, Biblical Truths, Spelling Words... the list goes on. We were very impressed with all the information at our finger tips to be used as we desired. The Teachers book is excellent quality hardbound book with a handy CD that allows you to print handout sheets as needed. One paperback edition of Pilgrims PRogress is also included and is very nice as it contains original notes and more! Highly recommended!!!!

I bought this whole package to do as a book study with my 13 and 15 year old. We have read Little Pilgrim's Progress a few times before this.

The audio is fantastic. Excellent job. The sound quality, the voice actors (different person for each character), the narrator...all excellent and well done. Easy to listen too. The background music and the action sounds are very realistic.

It does have curriculum for history, science and other but we ended up listening to the audio for a chapter or 2 and then do the questions. I photocopied the Pondering sections for my kids and would work on them together. We will revisit this book again in a year and do the digging deeper questions as well as more of the history, science and other parts. It probably could be used to cover most of your studies. Would have to add a math curriculum to it.

Very well done. I really appreciated the added explanation they add to expound on the character or theme that is featured in the chapter. Also the Bible references to each chapter. It makes it very clear. We enjoyed going through it. It is definitely something I will keep in my home library.

I appreciated a separate novel being included for the second child. Although she didn't read most of it, she enjoyed listening to the audio and retained quite a bit to answer the questions well. We will be reading it again. We will be moving onto Christiana's journey.

I wonder if they would make a curriculum for her?

This package is an excellent product. Well worth getting. Even if you do not want the curriculum, reading Pilgrim's Progress is so worthwhile. Do not cheat and get the new animated one. It does not touch the book. So many jewels to share in this book with your kids.

My older one did well to follow the words while listening to the audio. Great for those with learning issues as well. Maybe have them answer the questions orally or write for them. But they would benefit to follow the words while listening to the audio. There are a few pictures in there but nothing distracting. The big book I believe is larger print as well. They have a glossary at the end of each chapter and memory verse which is all very helpful.

If you have one child, you may want them to answer the questions right in the book. I printed off the questions from the online link that comes with the curriculum and put them in a binder. I was ready to do the "whole" curriculum (history, etc) but we already had curriculum we were working through. But for ELA, this is very beneficial. I counted it as a book study. It took us a good month or so to work through it. That was doing a chapter each day (but didn't always do 5 days a week). Sometimes we did 2 chapters and at the end we did the last 3 together. So, count on doing it for at least 6 weeks.

This has almost everything you need for curriculum for a couple of months, depending on how long you draw it out. If you are looking for something to cover the last couple of months and you finished your other curriculum, this might be it. Could also be used for those that are thinking of homeschooling...try this (all in one) for the summer and it will give you a good idea of what it is to learn at home. Again..you would need to add a math curriculum or book to this to make it rounded. It is also something that kids (teens) could do on their own if you have a season where you are not as available. Just print off the pages for them, set up a binder with tabs and should be ready to go.

    Worth getting.

We used this for a bible curriculum with 3rd grader, 6th grader, and 7th grader. I absolutely loved it. Some parts hard for 3rd grader to understand but he still gleaned a lot from it! I highly recommend it for any grade 3rd grade through 12th grade. They have easier lessons for younger and harder lessons for older kids.

I am only 3 chapters into this study. It is a much easier way to understand the old english when you can hear it and read it at the same time. Plus the benefit of Biblical paralells are great.
