This is a practical Bible study about getting healthy. I only wish the Bible study part was a little deeper. The health tips are awesome! Very helpful! Be sure to get the dvd too. The dvd is outstanding! The ladies and I have learned so much!

I purchased this bible study to go along with the Made to Crave video study I was using. After trying to make it work after a couple of sessions, it was obvious I had ordered the wrong study guide. There must be two different ones for Made to Crave. I emailed the author to ask for sure, but have not received a response. I think I needed the study guide that pictures the refrigerator farther away. Be sure you order the right study guide if you use it with a video.

A diet disguised as a bible study

I must confess - when I ordered this bible study to lead at my local church, I was looking for a way to lose weight in the name of Jesus. While the study might feel decent for those who are stuck in that same misguided focus as I was, I do believe it in hindsight to be dangerous. All the research (look into the "Health at Every Size" community) is pointing to new ideas about weight. That perhaps thinner doesn't mean healthier. And diets definitely do not work (at least for 95-98% of people in the long run). I just feel it's much more important to focus on God loving us just as we are instead of trying to disguise a diet as a bible study. It's true - many women do eat for emotional reasons. That should be uncovered and dealt with in the hands of a professional counselor ... ideally one who specializes in "Intuitive Eating". This study is just a bit off track in my opinion.
