A Beauty So Rare is the 2nd book in the Belmont Mansion Series by Tamera Alexander. It can be read as a stand alone book. So if you haven't read the first book, A Lasting Impression, you will still enjoy it.

I had heard so much about A Note Yet Unsung, the third and final book, that when I could get a copy I started there. I would highly suggest reading all three and if you can, it may help to read them in the order they were written. Tamera Alexander does such an excellent job of including actual places and people in her historical fictional works. I always want to research further the characters and locations like Belmont Mansion to find out what more I can learn. Tamera is known for her solid, beautiful storytelling. She has a special way of taking you along on an unforgettable journey. Elanor Braddock, our heroine is a very strong, caring, modern woman. Our hero, Marcus Geoffrey has a heart of gold that will melt yours. He is the perfect catch with his Hollywood good looks, but without the arrogance and attitude. I have enjoyed this entire series and would highly recommend reading all three stories.

A Beauty So Rare is the second book in Tamera Alexanders Belmont Mansion series, coming after A Lasting Impression. I really, really loved the first book in this series, so I was extremely excited to be able to read this one! Fortunately, I wasnt disappointed, but was in fact surprised to find that I loved this novel even more than its predecessor! I absolutely love historical novels, and Nashville, and Belmont Mansion, Adelicia, Eleanor, and Marcus, so this was a very, very enjoyable story to read! Plus, the storyline was absolutely perfect, and Tamera is a fantastic writer, so there wasnt a page of this novel that I didnt enjoy.

Eleanor Braddock is such a fantastic character! She is so kind and patient and caring of others, and worth loving despite her not-so-great feelings about herself. Although she thinks that shes not much to look at, and that no one will ever truly want her, Marcus does a fantastic job of proving her wrong, and I absolutely fell in love with the two of them. Especially Marcus. He and Eleanor are the cutest thing and they kept me laughing all through the book, but I especially loved how sweet and funny Marcus was. And my heart went out to him and all he faced because of his family and their position of nobility.

All in all, I really loved the both of them, and the entirety of their story, so I am happy to give this book all five bookshelves, and a place on my all-time favorites list! It is the whole package, and now Im even more excited to read the third book in the seriesA Note Yet Unsungwhich releases next month! Tamera did a wonderful job with this novel, and I cant wait to read more of her books in the future!

A beauty so rare is the second book in the Belmont mansion series.

Eleanor Braddock doesnt believe in love, at least for her. All her life she has watched men from her social standing vie for wealth and power through marriage. She knows that she doesnt possess the beauty or the wealth that could attract a husband from society, but thats the least of her problems. Her fathers health is deteriorating and her finances are dwindling. Forces to sell her home and all the things within its walls, she is at her wits end when an invitation from her Aunt Adelicia arrives, inviting her to come and live at Belmont Mansion. Settling into her new life, Eleanor fills her days by visiting her father who has been placed in a nearby facility, and helping her Aunt in various capacities. Then one day her aunt, much to Eleanors horror, decides that Eleanor must marry and she has the perfect man in mind.

Hired by Aidele to create a new shade of orchid for her, Marcus Gollfried, Archduke of Austria and next in line for the throne, wants nothing more than to focus on his botany. As royalty he is used to women flirting and fawning over him, but upon meeting Eleanor, he realizes, that although she knows nothing of who he truly is, she wants nothing to do with him, and he is intrigued. Little by little, Marcus finds ways to interact with Eleanor and the more time he gets to know her the more he discovers she has a true loveliness in her soul that is just waiting to be uncovered.

In true Tamera Alexander style, she has written another amazing book. She creates a story and characters that are amazing and capture a readers imagination. Her characters are so well written that you feel that that are a part of your life and her storyline draws the reader in so that you just need to know whats at the end of the chapter. I adored both Eleanor and Marcus. They were perfect as a couple. They both had fears that made them horribly anxious about entering into any kind of relationship, yet with Gods help and courage they slowly came to realize that fears are a lot bigger in our minds than they are in reality.

If you are looking for a fast paced, page turning book, this isnt it. This is a great book about God and people and relationships.

You dont have to read the first book in this series, A Lasting Impression. This can be read as a stand-alone book. It is approximately 400 pages, so the reader gets their monies worth.

I dont believe you would be disappointed and I will be recommending this book.

This is a wonderful book! I absolutely loved Marcus, not just because he was charming and handsome, but because of his love for Eleanor. She is someone who I'd like for a friend. When she saw a need, she worked to do something about it. She regarded herself to be plain (and some even had the audacity to call her that) but I don't think she really was. Marcus saw her as beautiful; she had a beauty within that transformed her. Marcus and Eleanor were friends, though they developed stronger feelings for each other. But there were obstacles: obligations and fears. I loved that they had such a strong friendship that developed. "Beste Freunde machen die besten Liebhaber"--Best friends make the best lovers.

So well written, you actually feel like you are walking in the pages of the book. I could smell the flowers in the conservatory, I could see the grand mansion for all its glory, I could feel the tension and irritation the characters sometimes had with each other, and on and on the experience went throughout the whole book. I am so grateful to have read this story and that there are authors in this world who ache to tell the ultimate love story of Jesus for us in romantic and funny ways. Well done Tamera and thank you so much for following God's leading in fulfilling your purpose.
