I bought this for my 9-year old daughter, who was delighted to be given permission to stay in bed each morning for an additional 5 minutes to read her devotion! Each lesson is one page long, so it doesn't go into great depth. The information is so valuable for a young girl, however. Stress is placed on God's faithful, loving character and His constant presence and protection. My daughter has had the book for a few weeks and shared her comments. She likes the chosen verses, but would enjoy having another verse or passage on the topic that she would have to look up on her own. She enjoys the challenge point, and gave as an example the point about remembering Psalm 4:8, "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety", when you feel lonely or scared in the night. Although she said that a true or fictional story illustrating each lesson would be interesting, my daughter said she would highly recommend this book to girls aged 8-12. I am encouraged by her continued interest in the book. I also appreciate the way author Carolyn Larsen speaks to issues of the heart that concern young ladies.

This is a fantastic devotional for girls of all ages. We use it with our Middle School girls and many of the teachers use it for their own devotions. Well written and thought provoking.
